New President's Mission Seminar
On June 21st, 2008 we entered the MTC for the New Mission President's Seminar. It was a week of drinking from a fire hose as we listened to men of God instruct us on our role as Mission Presidents. It was definitely a highlight in my life to associate with our Prophet, President Monson, his counselors and the Quorum of the Twelve. Their words were so powerful! They helped solidify the importance of this calling to serve. We met so many other wonderful couples who were making sacrifices greater than our own to serve the Lord in other parts of his vineyard. It was overwhelming to realize that we were to leave our family and friends for 3 years to serve over the Phoenix Arizona Mission, but we knew we would all grow and be blessed through this service.

Thinking of both of you. Sounds like you aee very busy and doing great works....keeping you in our prayers. Great news...Carol had a healthy, beautiful...perfect,....
8lb 1oz baby boy on Monday, August 11, by scheduled c-section!Carol and baby are both doing well! A true miracle and blessing after such a scarey pregnancy. It is amazing... little Jack was such a good sized baby having been born 2 weeks early. I am helping out and have loved being "Nana" ans staying with precious little Ellie while Carol recooped in the hospital. Carol is home now and I am staying on into next week to help her. It is busy! Takes me back to when my kids were little. All is well with my other family too. Our entire family was here in Charlevoix for Jack's arrival. It was a special time for all of us. Now Sarah is back in Charlotte, which she loves, and Eppa and Quint are holding down the fort in Cincinnati. Quint heads back to Vanderbilt on Friday. It will be too quiet at home.:( Thinking of both of you and sending our prayers to you on your new incredible journey. I know you must be exhausted caring for so many and also missing your family. Stay safe and well. Keep in touch when you can. God bless you both!
With love,
Buffie and the Rixey family
Carol and her family send her love too
